It's that time of year again - time to head back to school, and if you're heading off to college, or have a loved one who is, we have all the tips for setting up a college dorm room for comfort and productivity.
#1 - Clear Storage Bins - not only are these great for packing and traveling to college, but in a small dorm room, they are great for organization and can also double as small tables. Simply cover with a sheet or towel and instanly have a surface for books or other items. The benefit of clear bins is that you can always see what's in them without having to open them up and they are stackable. We prefer the models that have snapping lids so they stay closed. A college dorm must!
#2 - Back Buddy - since college means spending a lot of time at a desk, reading, studying and working on school assignments, there is no better way to stay pain free while seated than the Back Buddy trigger point massage tool. Simply place the Back Buddy on your chair and lean back to experience the relief. It's like getting a back massage as you work!
#3 - Fluffy Towels - being away at college can be tough and missing family and friends is emotionally challenging. After a shower, having nice big fluffy towels is an easy way to feel cozy and provide the comforts of home.
#4 - Slippers - a dorm room is usually many rooms in one - bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom, etc. Going barefoot is not the best idea for cleanliness. We recommend getting a great pair of slippers with a durable sole that can provide enough support but can also take the wear and tear of a college dorm setting. Dooeys makes beautiful 'house slippers' for women and Olukai slippers are great for men or women.
#5 - A Good Desk Lamp - the lighting in a dorm room can vary tremendously, and eye strain is a serious and concerning issue. Do yourself a favor and get a small but bright desk lamp to minimize eye strain. We love this list from Popular Mechanics that gives the specs on a few excellent suggestions.
Have a great start to the year!
